In November 2015, our Parish decided to establish a ‘Soup Kitchen’, as an outreach to those less fortunate in our community. We were lead in our endeavours by Fr Bernard Buckley who was our Parish Priest at that time. With lots of goodwill and support from the Parish, and from many businesses in our community, we now have a kitchen set up in the St Vincent de Paul Help Centre at 43 Kay Street, Traralgon. Our current priest, Fr Francis Otobo fully supports this outreach ministry.
We have now been running this service every Thursday evening for two and a half years and the need is growing, with between 30 and 70 people enjoying sharing food and time with each other and with our Teams. Our Teams prepare and serve the meals in the St Vincent de Paul Centre.
If you would like to volunteer as a team member, or perhaps make a donation to this worthy cause, please contact the Parish Office on 5174 2060 to obtain details.
