St Michael’s Charismatic Prayer Group
The Charismatic Prayer group meet every Thursday evening from 7.30pm – 9pm in Mackillop Hall, next to the Church. Occasionally it is replaced by a Healing Mass in the church itself. (See weekly bulletins)
The meetings are open to everybody and offer
- an oasis from worldly cares
- A sense of belonging in an atmosphere of trust
- An opportunity for healing prayer
- A time to listen to people’s stories
- A chance to hear bible based talks
- An experience of God’s presence
- An opportunity to use your gifts
Each meeting is different but normally consist of
- A time of praise and worship songs
- A teaching, sharing, etc
- A short period of intercession for needs
- Finishes with supper
The Charismatic Renewal experience has helped millions of Catholics have a personal relationship with Jesus and be empowered by the Holy Spirit and His gifts in their everyday lives. It gives people a love of the Scriptures, a freedom in effective prayer and an ability to share their faith with others.
